The Bear Clan Dancers & Singers from the Wisconsin Dells area are a renowned troupe of Ho-Chunk professional entertainers. It is a family led by Rick Cleveland and includes his children, sisters and brothers, and nieces and nephews. Collectively they have won innumerable awards and championships at pow wows all over the country. Each family member has been taught the ways and meanings of their Woodlands dances with teachings that have been handed down for generations.
Each of the Bear Clan Dancers and Singers have been performing since the day they could walk! That means over 30 years of professional teaching and performing as a family. They have performed at Olympic events and been chosen for the Native American Dance Theater in New York City, which only showcases the BEST of those on the national pow wow circuit. The list of venues and events where they have performed is long and prestigious.
When the Bear Clan Dancers and Singers take the stage, you will be seeing dances such as the Shield Dance and Eagle Dance, and be invited to be part of a Participation Dance. Leader of the troupe, Rick Cleveland, also narrates the evening with dance explanations, including the pow wow, a Native American social event that everyone is welcome to attend. You will walk away feeling uplifted and more knowledgeable of the Native American culture after attending any Bear Clan Dancers & Singers performance.
